kansas City and Germany

Well spring break started out amazing with an orchestra trip to Kansas City. We got down thursday night and watched the Kansas City Orchestra which was not the most exciting performance I have ever seen... anyway, Friday started out with us demonstrating at a clinic on high school orchestra teaching. Then the actual competition came. I was extremely nervous as were others, but playing at Music Hall was so much fun and we played pretty well. Then after a while of searching the streets of Kansas city we finally found a convenient store and bought a football (I also bought one of those flashlights that you shake instead of using a battery... sweet). Then after like 2 1/2 hours of football we got ready for the banquet. The food wasn't good but we ended up getting 2nd! We were pretty excited about, even though we thought we were better than the winners. But I suppose we can be 2nd in the nation. Then there was a off the hook dance which was pretty intense. We drove back saturday. Now I have about 6 hours to pack before I leave for Germany. I hope it will be fun. I still need to finish all my homework during the trip.

swimming

Well the state meet as always was pretty fun. The relays didn't go that well though. Our medley ended up 15th and 400 free 18th. In my 500 I got the school record at 4:57 but I got 17th overall so I was hoping for alittle better there. When I got back home on sunday I had gotten a letter from U of Cincinnati. I got rejected which I was kind of expecting, being the worst of my auditions. Its alright though because all I am worrying about right now is Cleveland Institute of Music. It should be in sometime this moneth. Chances are I won't be here though since on Thursday I leave for Kansas City till saturday and then Sunday I leave for Germany. Atleast I won't be bored this month.
